Our Dual Language Program is a form of bilingual education that seeks to have students achieve academically while developing fluency in two different languages. Our students come from either Spanish-speaking, English-speaking homes and/or bilingual homes. In the classrooms, our children are both students and teachers, serving as linguistic models for each other.
The program is designed to affirm students cultural identity and develop an appreciation for and familiarity with the cultures of others. Their bilingualism and cross-cultural competency allows them to critically evaluate the world in which they live. It facilitates opportunities for students to advocate for themselves, and their communities, as they work towards becoming active agents of change and global citizens.
The Basics
- Two languages are used for instruction
- Students have different levels of fluency in either language
- 50%-90% of daily instruction is in Spanish

The Goals for our Students
- Achieve academically. (Grade-level academic performance in Spanish and English, meeting or exceeding district guidelines)
- Develop high levels of proficiency in Spanish and English (listening, speaking, reading and writing).
- Demonstrate positive cross-cultural attitudes and adaptive behaviors.
